Education as Life-long Process of Human Liberation and Development

The pre-school education of the child is a process which naturally starts with his parents at home, and by his parents’ choice, his education may be continued and enhanced in a day care school.
There are several propositions as to when the child’s pre- school education should begin and as to when it should end. These propositions are from the extreme to the moderate, which might be summed up in three propositions: (1) “pre-education begins at conception and ends at resurrection (2) “pre-education begins at the womb and ends at the tomb; and from (3) “pre-education begins at the cradle and ends at the grave” Note that the three propositions suggest that the pre-school education of the child should start at the earliest time possible, even before his birth, and should continue during his lifetime, even beyond his life time. In brief, the propositions suggest their grave concern for the role of education in the life of the human being.
With what does the child’s pre-education begin? One existing assumption that is widely accepted is that “a child is born with an empty mind” (a mind that is ‘tabula rasa’ or ‘blank board’). Pre-education begins with the child’s empty mind. At this stage, child’s mind is delicately malleable; thus the child needs a teacher as educator to mold his malleable mind. His parents undertake the initial and delicate task to educe the potentials of his very tender mind. To pre-educate, in brief, is to mold the mind of the child.
But, what is the end of the child’s pre-education? The end that is also widely accepted is that his pre-education is eventually for “complete living”. But, “complete living” is pursued hierarchically. Thus, specific goals of complete living could be identified within the hierarchy of human needs and wants. Accordingly, the first specific goal of education is self-preservation, the satisfaction of physiological needs and wants; the second is satisfaction of security needs and wants; the third is the satisfaction love needs and wants; the forth, the satisfaction of esteem needs and wants; and finally, the satisfaction of self-actualization or the ‘total human liberation and development’ of the pupil.
Self-actualization, however, is not absolute but relative. Whoever is absolutely self-actualized or self-fulfilled with what he does, has reached his culminating point – he will progress no more. Man’s destiny in life is not to be dissatisfied but forever unsatisfied. Therefore, one’s pursuit of total human liberation and development is not achievable in his lifetime. This may suggest the speculation that education goes beyond this life, that there is still human life after human life.
Assuming that the starting point of child’s pre-education is the “child’ empty mind” and its end is “the child’s eventual complete living”: What should be the task of the Barangay Day Care teacher as educator? The first task should be “to replace the child’s empty mind with an open one.” The critical role of the teacher as educator is to teach and educate the child to keep his mind discriminately open to various, and even opposing, ideas, values, and practices which he had learned from his elders. The negative and positive values and/or practices of his society would affect his actual choices and decisions in the pursuit of complete living.
Explained differently, “education is an activity or endeavor in which the more mature (e.g. teacher as educator) in society deals with the less mature (child), in order to achieve greater maturity in them and contribute thereby to the improvement of human life”.
Outside the home, the day care center is an informal institution where the pre-school children should be taught and educated “to learn to unlearn” and/or “to unlearn to learn” their values and practices learned and/or acquired at home or elsewhere. From the realistic point of view, education is an on-going process where the child ‘is what he is not, and he is not what he is”. Identity-wise, “who the child is” is permanent. The identity of the child at one year old remains the same identity even in his older years, “I was that child”. Personality-wise, “what the child is” at three years old is distinct from “what he is” at 20 years later, though his identity remains the same.
Education has no bearing to the identity of the pupil, but to his personality. “Personality” comes from the merging of “person”“quality”, where “person” means “per se ens” in Latin, meaning “being in itself, thus existing permanently by itself” and “quality” which modifies the person, thus it cannot exist by itself independent of the person, hence, transitory. Personality-wise, education is a life-time process of liberating and developing the child from “what he is” to “what he is not”, and from “what he is not” to “what he is”. The child’s transformation involves his “learning and unlearning” and activities. Here the teacher/educator plays a very crucial role.

Education In Human Values – A Scholarly Perspective

Unfortunately, the scheme of strengthening education in human values (EHV) appears to have very little planned the picture seemed different in the country’s educational institutions besides launch of policies and programmes. The central legislations has failed at the very beginning. The NCERT as a central resource centre for value education resulted futile, as the agency has failed at the very essence to reach the target. Mere publications on the part of National resource centre on value education by the NCERT at the centre will not serve the purpose.
The organization of teacher training seminars at national level is not a remedy to re-exhibit the values among so called teachers and people in governance. The teachers need to be taught the basic ethics as to how to talk and act with the learning posterity. The monitoring and training resource centres at local level may prove herculean for inculcation of value among all the people. Moreover, A draft curriculum for teacher training acknowledges several problems in preparing teachers properly for the classroom and imbibe in them values.
Historically. Education about India’s common cultural heritage has been identified in para 3.4 of National Policy on Education as one of the core areas under the National System of Education. The common core will include the history of India’s freedom movement, the constitutional obligations and other content essential to nurture national identity. These elements will cut across subject areas and will be designed to promote values such as India’s common cultural heritage, egalitarianism, democracy and secularism, equality of the sexes, protection of the environment, removal of social barriers, and observance of the small family norm and inculcation of the scientific temper.
The National Policy on Education (para 8.4 and 8.5) has laid
considerable emphasis on value education by highlighting the need to make
education a forceful tool for cultivation of social and moral values.
A Central Sector- Scheme of Assistance to Agencies for Strengthening Culture/Art/ Values in Education and for Assistance to Educational Institutions implementing Innovative Programme was formulated in 1987-88. It provided for financial assistance on 100% basis to projects/proposals screened by duly constituted Grants-in-Aid Committee of the Ministry. In July 1990, a decision was taken in the Ministry to set up a working group to review the scheme to make it more purposeful. Accordingly, a working group was constituted with the officers.
Of the Ministry and experts from premier resource institutions of the country
engaged in strengthening cultural and artistic inputs in education.
The recommendations made by the working group were examined in the Ministry carefully and a decision was taken that the process of strengthening cultural and value inputs in education should be extended to the non-formal sector also. The Scheme was revised and reformulated in 1992 which is known as the Scheme of Financial Assistance for Strengthening Culture and Values in education.

Importance of Education in Human social Life

The only property of human beings that increases when shared with other people. The light that shows a correct path in darkness without any source of light. The weapon that makes a country developed without any violence. Human gave a name to a word that includes all this qualities as Education and this word played and still plays a vital role in humans’ life.
“Humans” we people are known as intelligent only thanks to education or the knowledge that we get from our parents or teachers or elders without education we can't or couldn't have reached into this era as we all know this era has developed lots of machines that helps us from our daily needs to big factories. This era is also known as a machinery era.
A country can be well developed only if the citizen of that country is well educated and has view on changing the countries view. If we take an example of a country in Asia than we can find more than 3 quarter of people are still illiterate 2 quarter of people might be able to recognize the alphabets but they cannot read fluently and only a quarter of population might be literate. As there are many illiterate population in a country that country is not well developed which leads to poverty to the country. As the country is poor there is lack of job opportunity as there are no job opportunity the literate population sift from one place to another in search of job they might migrate to abroad for their better life stander and in search of job or for his and his families bright future.
In search of hob the person goes abroad than in his native country there are lacks of literate population who can develop their county. Most of the literate people migrate to a developed county. For an example we can take one of the well developed country if Europe. There are more literate than illiterate or there might be none of the population is illiterate. It is only because of the education stander there is higher than the countries of Asia. In Europe the education is compulsory until a fixed age. And as it is compulsory to everyone people there are literate and can make their country developed which attracts the literate people of developing country to come and work for them.
The education system also differs from country to country. Most of the European country applies the practical education
system where as in Asia we apply mostly theoretical education system. Teachers in Europe they teach their student understanding there psychological wishes and in which subject they are interested and where they have got a better future. Student there are free to choose their own way and are self responsible what they are going to be in their future. Teachers are only there to guide you and to explain the things what you don’t understand and the rest you have to do yourself in your own. Here they also learn their students by experimenting methods than only with theory which is more efficient to capture for students their mind. When they read something in book they are habituated to do it practically and see what the result is instead of believing only what the teacher says them.
Where as in Asia half of the population are still uneducated. It is only because of the mentality of not sending their daughters to school thinking that they should go to their in-laws house and don’t have any used of education there. They still do have the mentality that girls should only keep them busy in house holding works. Most of the girls still don’t know the outer world. They are busy in feeding their brothers who go to school. They have to wash their school uniforms and have to make sure that everything is “ok”. So if the girls are illiterate than they can’t educated their child which leads also illiteracy to that child.
If the students are educated than most of the students are only with theoretical knowledge they cannot bring out their theory knowledge into the world. Their education is only limited in books and nothing else. It is only because of lack of enough equipment available in school to experiment with. Here students get their class in mass of student where teachers are unavailable to give enough attention to every student present in the class so it is rarely
acceptable that teachers teaches their student by understanding their psychological wishes and in which subject they are interested as a result the student get depressed and that leads to his dark future. Here the students are more dependent upon their teachers than with themselves. This also leads that most of the student’s future gets into darkness just because of not believing in own self.
If a country want to be developed than its all citizen should be well educates as male population as female population. And When all the population of a country is well educated, than that country is half developed. As the populations are well educated, it doesn’t need more time to compete with a well developed country of modern days. So if a country wants to be developed than each and every citizen of that country should be well educated and well informed about the importance of education.

The importance of education in human life

It is a well known saying that education is a process of living and not a preparation for future living. The word 'education is derived from a Latin word meaning "to draw out".
Whether this definition is correct or not, the aim of true definition is correct or not, the aim of true education is certainly, not so much to load the memory with knowledge, as to "draw out" or develop the faculties of the mind.
As we all know that give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teaches a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. So, every child should begin with a general education. He must learn to observe accurately, to think truthfully, to speak correctly, and to write clearly. For a child should know something of the wonderful world he lives in, and something of what men have done in past.
As it is truly said' the difference between a man and an animal is that a man is educated and animals are not. Along with all this must go moral education-perhaps the most important of all. Religion is perhaps best taught at home but the great moral principles common to all religions should be given a prominent place in school teaching, for right conduct is the must important part of life.
Now at last, I would like to say that education is what is left after all has been learnt is forgotten. People sometimes talk of having "finished" their education when they leave school or college. But real education should never finish all through life we should be learning, not only from books, but form experience- from life it self. But nowadays children think that education is a process of wasting half of our life to learn how to waste remaining half of our life. This is wrong.
If you require international level studies in India for your children. So do not be confuse just you need to search international schools in India, international schools India , international school in India, International school Delhi etc. and you can easily find such kind of destination via internet.
As we also know that "no education, no future is a true thought as education helps us to grow and change the face. If we are literate we can access to anything easily. Education has changed people. Education has told us much about this world. Education actually does not mean to be a book worm. But it means to understand. Education is not only studies but also physical as well as moral. If we are not fit we can not to a small work. So, physical education is very important. We should also be having values as first impression is the last impression. If we have moral value anyone will easily understand about his personality. So moral education is also very important- education has changed the whole world. So we should remember those great men who wanted welfare of others changed fare of world and we can how educated were. So, be educated in everything.
